A founding belief in 1987 became the SM² Vision — and forty years of standing became the launchpad for what comes next.
Greenwich began in 1987, in a Pakistan hungry for institutions worthy of its ambition.Dr. Kamal Ahmed Khan founded it on a single, patriotic conviction — that this country’s greatest resource has always been its people, and that a university exists to prepare them, rigorously and honourably, to thrive anywhere in the world.
That conviction needed hands to carry it. Saeed Kamal Mughal sowed the first seed and built outward — from a single Karachi campus into a chartered, degree-awarding university. Prof. Dr. Seema Mughal turned scale into standing, shaping the academic rigour, the faculties and the international partnerships that let a Greenwich degree be recognised far beyond Pakistan’s borders.
“Sow the seeds today; grow the best place of study in the country.”The founding belief that still guides Greenwich
SM²— Saeed Mughal and Seema Mughal — is more than two names. It is a vision squared: the founder’s dream, multiplied by two lifetimes of work to make it real. Today it stands as twelve schools, a transformed campus and internationally recognised degrees — the seeds of 1987 become the soil for everything that comes next.
Forty years of work earned Greenwich its name and standing. That is the soil.
Twelve sharpened schools, each a living lab carrying the vision into daily practice.
The transformed campus and the engine of execution — built on purpose, not by accident.
If SM² grows the institution,GX grows the human — a parallel programme that develops the leaders and humans of tomorrow alongside every degree.
